Delete Your Tether Account

How to delete your account and what happens to your data.

Option 1: Delete in the app

1. Open the Tether app and sign in.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Option 2: Ask us by email

If you no longer have the app, email privacy@tetherco.app with the subject "Delete My Account", sent from the email address you used to sign in to Tether (for Sign in with Apple accounts that hide your email, tell us which address Apple used, or delete from the app instead). We may reply to confirm the request comes from you, and we'll complete it within 30 days.

What gets deleted

• Your profile, display name, date of birth, and all of your prompt responses (text, voice recordings, photos, and songs) are permanently deleted within 30 days.
• Your bonds are ended, and your partners can no longer see anything you shared in Tether. Share cards someone already saved or sent outside the app can’t be recalled.

What we keep, and for how long

• Your email address is kept for up to 90 days to prevent fraud, then deleted.
• Security log data is kept for up to 12 months.
• Aggregated statistics that can't identify you may be kept indefinitely.
• If another user has blocked you, your email address is kept for as long as that block stands, so the block still works if you sign up again.
• Content flagged as apparent child sexual abuse material, and related records, are preserved for 90 days as required by law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A).
